01 / HOW IT WORKS
Irrigation below ground, directly in the root zone.
In an SDI system, water flows through drip lines installed below the soil surface and is delivered in a controlled way close to plant roots.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution. Together, we determine installation depth, spacing between drip lines and the water supply configuration according to your crops, soil type, water source and farming operations.
The principle: water is delivered where plants need it, through a system designed for your land.

Thinking about irrigating a field? We discuss the options based on your crops and available resources.
Is SDI suitable for every crop?
Not automatically. SDI can be considered for a range of field and horticultural crops, but suitability depends on soil, crop type, rotation and field operations. We assess this after reviewing your site.
Can SDI provide enough water for seed germination?
Not in every situation. If subsurface irrigation does not sufficiently moisten the seedbed, an additional irrigation method may be needed for germination.
Do I need an existing water source?
To design the system, we need to know the available water source, flow rate and, where relevant, water quality. If you do not have these details yet, we can discuss what needs checking first.
What do I need to do after installation?
Like any irrigation system, SDI requires proper operation: checking filtration and pressure, monitoring flow rates and flushing the lines as specified in the design. AGRODRIP Romania provides design, supply, installation and commissioning; it does not offer routine maintenance services.
Do you work outside Galați County?
Yes. AGRODRIP Romania is based in Matca, Galați County, and provides services for projects throughout Romania.
